Woldingham Village Club – July 2019 Update
It is that time of the year at the Village Club where the buzz and excitement grows as the long awaited Beer festival creeps up on us! As I mentioned in last month’s magazine, the 8th Annual Beer Festival starts on Friday 5th July with an open mic night for any talented individuals that wish to share their musical prowess.
Saturday 6th July sees the Festival open at 12:00pm with our usual wide range of craft and real ales (many local), a variety of premium English ciders, a Gin and Prosecco bar and tasty hot and cold food available from F&B’s BBQ Shack.
There is of course live music from the outdoor stage to accompany your refreshments, starting with Jenson Tagg supplying a rock/folk/blues sound. The rest of the line up sees Trust Me, Jack!, the fm band, and headliners The Gangsters, wrapping up around 11:30pm.
Head back Sunday where we again open at 12:00pm for much of the same. The music line up consists of the acoustic David Shepherd, swing soul and rock from David Jelley, The Kristian Baker Band and headliners Into the Blue ending the show around 9pm.
All acts from both days can be found on line if you fancy a sneak preview of what you are in for prior to the weekend! On top of all this, there will be a super raffle too!
As per previous years, ale and cider barrels are available for sponsorship – £30 for one, £50 for two. If you are interested in sponsoring any please contact Neil or Julie at the Club, either by phone – 653330, Facebook or the traditional way and pop in and see them!
It’s not just all about the Beer Festival at the moment, on Sunday 21st July we have the ever popular Annual Fun Dog Show. Doors open at 12pm, entry is £2 per adult, children go free, class entry is £2 per pooch – proceeds split between Street Vet Brighton and Woldingham Village Club. There are seven classes to enter including waggiest tail, best rescue and cutest puppy. It is usually packed so make sure you get there early!
If you just fancy a chilled drink, pop in any time and enjoy our newly landscaped garden too….English summer weather permitting!
Just as a reminder don’t forget Friday nights at the Club hold the ever popular meat raffle and member’s draw, with Julie’s Kitchen providing a Friday Night Special.
Follow us on Facebook for updates, and members, don’t forget to check your weekly emails advising what is on for the forthcoming week. If you do not receive these emails, please let Neil or Julie know.
