THE WOLDINGHAM WIBBLEY WOBBLEYS succeed!

12 brave Woldingham ladies (aka the Woldingham Wibbley Wobbleys) took up the challenge to 'Walk the Walk' on May 11th in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Bristol Cancer Care - both very deserving causes. The walk was an overnight marathon and around 10,000 ladies, and 500 brave men pounded the London streets in their decorated bras! (Yes - the men as well!).

Not for the faint hearted - Here are some of us (before the blisters!)

This is the 5th year that the event has been run and the target is to raise £3 million. Obviously the Woldingham Wibbley Wobbleys would like to make a significant contribution to this!! It is not too late to support us, please send your pledges to thewobbleys@woldingham.com or sign up in the village shop. Our motive is to help remove the threat of breast cancer from our daughters' lives. Scientists believe this is can be achieved within a 15 year time frame - support Breakthrough whose research will help this happen sooner. Any donation, however small would be appreciated.

Thank you in anticipation

P.S. We will let you know our grand total as soon as possible

WOLDINGHAM WIVES TAKE TO THE CATWALK & RAISE £2,000 FOR ST. CHRISTOPHERS!

What do 2 male sales assistants, 3 teenage girls and ten Woldingham Wives have in common? They all walked down the catwalk for St. Christopher's on Saturday 16 March!

The ladies wore a variety of one-of-a-kind creations specially made by local couturier Fiona Dashwood for this event. Our brave gentlemen modelled labels such as Armani, Pal Zileri and Gant from Robert Fuller from Oxted. Our Master of Ceremonies - Chris Lambert began the show by telling us about how brave these "young ladies and gentlemen were". After the first few times down the runway, our local celebrities were smiling, blowing kisses to the audience and having a great time under the spotlights.

Behind the scenes, was a production line of: 4 make up artists from Mary Kay and Thomas of Trimmers in Oxted. All had donated their time and expertise to make our models look stunning! While our technical experts, Simon Aggiss and Andrew Kozminski worked from the wee small hours of the morning throughout the day to ensure that lights and music came together.

Through the financial support of program advertisers and those attending this event, £2,000 was raised for St. Christopher's! The Woldingham Wives Fellowship is grateful for the overwhelming local support for this event.

CUMBRIA TRIP

A group of 14 from Woldingham spent a few days R&R in Cumbria at Melmerby Hall in March. Much fun had by everyone, even including a rather tough climb of Cross Fell in freezing temperatures, snow, blizzard, and a howling wind! Location to be recommended. Click here for photos.
