Garden waste collections will not take place in the weeks beginning 28 December and 4 January 2021. Please check your garden waste calendar for scheduled collections.
You can place additional recycling in plastic carrier bags, cardboard boxes or clear recycling sacks bought from some supermarkets or online next to your recycling bin. Please don’t use black sacks, as the collection crew needs to be able to see it’s recycling.
You can place additional rubbish in sacks next to your black wheeled rubbish bin and our collection crews will collect it on your first rubbish collection day after Christmas Day.
Please check the items you throw into your rubbish bin as so much can now be recycled. You can check what you can recycle at www.tandridge.gov.uk/recycling
Recycling Christmas trees
Anyone with a real Christmas tree can recycle it in the following ways once the festive season is over:
· Take it to the Community Recycling Centres in Bond Road, Warlingham, or Chaldon Road, Caterham and put it in the garden waste container.
· Cut it up and compost it in your home compost bin.
· If you are a member of the Biffa Green Waste Club, cut up your tree (maximum tree trunk 4″ diameter) and put it in your bin for collection. Make sure you can still close the lid.
Snow, ice and severe weather conditions
In severe weather information about collection delays and cancellations will be available on www.tandridge.gov.uk, by signing up for one of our newsletters at www.tandridge.gov.uk/signup
