Horticultural Society

Woldingham & District Horticultural Society has been thriving for over 80 years and currently has about 190 members. Every year the Society organises three shows – Spring, Summer and Autumn; a spring plant sale and an autumn coffee morning and plant sale; a series of lectures; a visit to one or two gardens of special interest. In the village it tends the rose beds in the Crescent and the flower bed at the station. Recently it has planted large numbers of daffodil bulbs and snowdrops at various sites around the village.

Summer Show – Saturday 7th July 2018, Village Hall

One of the summer highlights in our village is the Horticultural Society Summer Show, it is a chance to show off your gardening skills, cooking and craft skills and there are lots of categories for children to have fun and enter too. Even if you are new to gardening, why not join in and have a go (entries to be brought to the Village Hall from 9am to 11am). Alternatively come to the afternoon showing of exhibits and enjoy delicious cake and tea (open to view from 2.15pm until 4.15pm)

If you would like to join the Society and enter the Summer Show, contact Nancy or any of the committee members to obtain your schedule and information on how to enter (see contact details below).

The Society would particularly love to encourage more first time exhibitors and children to join in the flower shows, older children can also have a go at all the main categories, including vegetables, flowers, cooking and crafts. The shows are great fun and all committee members are very happy to be contacted to help guide first time exhibitors in entering their plants (see contact details below).
