The Downlands Partnership is looking for volunteers

Webmaster Volunteering

The Downlands Partnership is a countryside management project working to manage and restore many areas of countryside around the East of Surrey. They clear vegetation, scrub and trees but also work on footpaths, install benches, waymarkers and other improvements to rights of way.

They are looking for volunteers to join their task group but also check their livestock in and around Woldingham village and further afar, the closest site being Longhill SNCI and another is Marden Park.

The Downlands Partnership offers lots of great opportunities to volunteer.

Task days run on Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs and 1-2 Sundays each month. Enjoy seasonal public footpath work, coppicing and scrub clearance, pond restoration and a host of other important jobs on our chalk grassland and woodland sites. Come and give it a try; there is no fixed commitment, you can join in with practical conservation work as often as you like. We work across NE Surrey, Croydon and Sutton. If you only have an hour or two to spare, you can still volunteer and become a livestock checker. Help with the daily health checks and welfare of our grazing animals.

Training is provided to equip you for your new role. The more you volunteer, the more new skills you will learn. Plus the benefits of improved well-being and fitness as well as socialising with like-minded people, and of course you will be helping to look after glorious countryside areas for local wildlife!

Volunteering with us is great for health, happiness and habitat!
So come and join in with our dedicated group of friendly volunteers. The free tea, coffee and biscuits also sweeten the deal. Your local countryside needs YOU!
