Date & Time
2:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Woldingham Village Green
Saturday 17th September 2016
Thank you for all the feedback you have given me – we are going to try something new in order to provide an opportunity for more families to get involved! (Saturday mornings with children activities proves incredibly challenging for most!). Though I did hear that many of you like to get it over and done with on a Saturday morning so I’m going to try and accommodate everyone (a brave lady I hear you cry!). So listen up because here is the detail!
The main event! Village Litter Pick
Kick off 2.30pm meet on the Village Green:
Please pick up the usual equipment from me (gloves, pickers, bags) and Roads will be allocated. If there are enough younger children we can have a game of football or rounders on the green (children to be supervised by a parent!) while grown ups pick!
Finish rendezvous 4.30pm at the Village Club:
There will be drinks, nibbles and children’s snacks available and a competition (with prizes!) where volunteers from the village community tell tall tales about the most interesting litter we have picked!
For the early birds
I will be at the village green between 10am and 11am with picking equipment, coffees and cake ready to welcome everyone who would like to donate their time earlier in the day.
Please everyone you are most welcome to come to any/all/part of this litter pick event! All efforts are incredibly gratefully received not just by me but appreciated by all in the village by way of a litter free village for us all to live in and enjoy! I look forward to seeing you all there.
And finally Supplementary Litter Picks at a later date
Feedback told me that people are keen to do a couple of focused litter picks.
Supplementary Pick 1 – Station Road bank sides
This seems to be a magnet for rubbish! A focused hour with a few volunteers should get it sorted.
Date – Saturday 8th October 10am meet station carpark
Supplementary Pick 2 – Halilloo Valley Road
This road is too dangerous for the usual litter pick so I will arrange an additional litter pick in the new year with a rolling road block provided by the Fullers’ tractor.
Date – to be arranged.
Many thanks, Becky Rush
