February’s Nominated Volunteers
Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations in February. We have selected one nomination which is highlighted online and in the March issue of the Magazine (page 37), out now. Every nomination submitted will be recorded and at the end of 2017 we will celebrate all the volunteers and compile a complete list of groups, projects and organisations which welcome volunteers and their contact details if appropriate. Please continue to nominate volunteers, details are on the Year of the Volunteer web page.
February’s nominated volunteers are:
Those who help raise funds for
the Eusebia Hope Foundation (EHF)
EHF aids children orphaned through HIV/Aids in the Meru region of Kenya and is run by Woldingham’s own Christine Black. The charity provides immediate survival, by feeding, clothing, caring for and educating the children. Currently, EHF looks after 53 children and has access to piped water thanks to donations from Woldingham residents. Their next project is building both a dining hall and dormitory.
Fundraising initiatives run by volunteers in our Village have included: a Pet Service, fund raising support and collections at St Paul’s Church, coffee mornings and marketing. Woodlea School children and parents have donated uniforms and raised money over Christmas 2016. Volunteers include: Paul Norris, Alison, Paul Rudd, Sarah, Alex Swain, Claire, Becky Rush, Victoria Francis and parents who collected clothes.
If you would like to learn more about EHF or to join the fund raising volunteers, please contact Christine by phone on 653285 or email eusebiahope@gmail.com
