Village Club – November News Update
With Autumn now officially in full swing it is time for me to give you an update on what has been happening at WVC this summer – and what a summer it has been!!
I have to start with the amazing 6th Annual Beer Festival. What an event! We were absolutely blessed with the weather this year; it was dry, bright and beautifully warm, very unlike last year! Whilst we imagine the sun was a contributing factor, the beer, BBQ and bands certainly made it. We had over 550 people join us for the weekend, consuming over 2300 pints of real ale, lager and cider, 600 burgers, 150 hot dogs. 10 live acts over the two days provided some great music and entertainment and we gave away £1000 in cash to a lucky local resident who took part in one of our competitions! All in all, a lot of hardwork put in by the committee members, and supported wonderfully by the local community, made for the most successful festival so far. We hope to see more of you at the 7th Annual Beer Festival next year!

Woldingham Village Club Beer Festival 2017
WVC holds an annual fundraising night for a chosen charity, this year we opted to do our best to raise as much money and awareness as we could for a local lad, Alfie Jeary, who suffers from a very rare condition – Hypoparathyroidism (Calcium sensory receptor mutation). We had a fantastic night of knockout pool and darts competitions, a superb raffle and tombola, cake sale and a name the bear competition. We managed to raise an impressive £2754 which will go towards his extensive medical care.
And finally…..I have to thank our regulars for their patience putting up with the temporary toilets we had in the garden whilst our toilets were having their 21st century makeover, and what a makeover it is! We now have a dedicated disabled toilet with a baby change facility and redesigned ladies and gents toilets that just look magnificent. If you haven’t been to the Club for a while it’s worth it just to use the conveniences!
As a reminder, all updates, future events, videos and photos from our events can be found on our Facebook page. We hope to see you soon!
