The meeting was held last night in the village hall with 5 members of our local police force, Lisa Townsend (Police and Crime Commissioner), the Parish Council, Woldingham Association, Keeping Woldingham Safe group, Neighbourhood watch and around 50 residents from the village in person and on zoom.
The police outlined key stats, policing priorities and the local neighbourhood policing initiatives. Lisa gave an overview of her priorities and crime plan for Surrey. The majority of the session was spent in q and a.
The meeting was very productive discussing crime prevention methods we could deploy in the village to help everyone feel safer, and also getting clarification on the best way for us to work with the police to get the support we need.
Actions from the meeting included the establishment of a Policing Working Group, which I had agreed with Borough Commander Karen Hughes, to look at initiatives such as ANPR cameras for the village, village crime hot spots and communications.
It was also agreed that prior to Christmas a Police surgery would be arranged in the village to offer advice on security and safety.
The Policing Working Group will include representatives from the Parish Council, WA, Keeping Woldingham Safe group. It will be deliberately shall in number and focused on action, however if you are interested in joining please message me Becky.email@example.com
