Success for the Tower in Need Appeal!
The appeal to raise funds to repair the damage to the tower of St Paul’s Church caused by water penetration and to redecorate the baptistry at the bottom of the tower has achieved its target. The Parochial Church Council is most grateful to the many local residents and other friends of Woldingham who gave so generously to the appeal. Some 60 residents and former residents of Woldingham contributed as did the Parish Council, the Surrey Churches Trust and the Inchcape and Craigmyle family trusts – the last two a very welcome link to the two families who played such a key role in the funding and building of St Paul’s in 1932-3.
The work on the tower is planned for mid-September onwards and redecoration of the baptistry for the New Year.
