Reopening of churches for private prayer
We are now able to begin reopening our churches for individual private prayer and have been preparing for this in terms of cleaning, hygiene precautions etc. We look forward to welcoming people into St. Paul’s and St. Agatha’s Churches from this coming week.
Visitors will need to observe social distancing and hand cleansing (sanitiser will be provided) and to follow instructions about moving around the churches to protect everyone who attends – notices will be on display to explain the arrangements. We have been instructed not to use our regular prayer books, Bibles etc. due to the risk of infection being transmitted between different users, but you are welcome to bring your own and take them away with you; some simple leaflets which you can take away will also be available. The permission at this stage is only for private individual prayer and not for any kind of public/group worship; we will let you know when we have a date for this to resume.
We hope to open each church on two days per week initially, spaced out to allow a 72-hour gap between the opening days in each church.
The opening times for the immediate future will be:
Church Opening times for the coming week
St Paul’s – Tuesday 16th June, 1pm-3pm and Friday 19th June, 3pm-5pm
St. Agatha’s – Wednesday 17th June, 9.30am-5pm and Sunday 21st June, 9.30am-5pm
