NOTICE: THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL HALL HILL (C84) OXTED AND WOLDINGHAM ROAD (C72) WOLDINGHAM TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2020

SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSE TO MAKE the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the following lengths of roads –
(a) that length of Hall Hill (C84) Oxted which extends from its junction with Spring Lane to its junction with Tanhouse Road. Alternative Route – Spring Lane, Woodhurst Lane and Tanhouse Road;
(b) that length of Woldingham Road (C72) Woldingham which extends from its junction with Bug Hill to its junction with Long Hill. Alternative Route – Woldingham Road, Godstone Road, Hillbury Road, Westhall Road, The Green, Limpsfield Road, The Ridge, Northdowns Road, Station Road and Woldingham Road.

Hall Hill, Oxted

This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out carriageway patching/dressing/surfacing works and/or major highway maintenance works which is anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 June 2020.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted. When this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
