Woodland Trust using horses to remove trees in Marden Park – from 23 Feb

Webmaster General News

A team of contractors will be working in Great Church Wood this week, starting Tuesday 23.02.2021. With the help of heavy horses, they will be moving the ash felled last year as part of the on-going management of ash dieback, to a stacking point where a machine can then extract it once conditions allow. Some timber will be left as deadwood habitat, however, in large volumes timber can smother woodland ground flora.
Please look out for warning signs and observe the barriers whilst the team and their animals are working. These are in place to keep everyone safe. Dog owners, please keep your dog on a lead when in the area of in Great Church Wood.
